Virtual Track FAQs

What programming will be included in the WIDA Annual Conference virtual program?  

The 2026 WIDA Annual Conference virtual track includes a curated program of live sessions and an exclusive virtual keynote speaker on September 15, 2026. During each session block, participants will choose from five live sessions that will be tailored to a virtual audience.

A recording-only option is also available. Recording-only participants will receive access to recorded virtual sessions on October 12, 2026.   

Access to recordings for all will end on January 31, 2027.   

What are the technical requirements?  
WIDA uses multiple technologies, applications, and platforms to deliver the highest quality online professional learning available. Conference attendees need to ensure they have full access to the following:

• Canvas Learning Management System - all information related to the 2026 WIDA Annual Conference will be housed here, including links to the live sessions and session recordings after the event. Please check you have access to one of the supported browsers outlined below. Mobile devices are not compatible with all features. 
• Supported browser and computer requirements for Canvas
• Vimeo video platform – For the live event, keynote presentations only. In addition, all recordings (keynote and Zoom concurrent sessions) will be available after the live event. Please ensure your district does not block Vimeo if you plan to view sessions on a district network. 
• Zoom – all live concurrent sessions. We recommend that you download and join via the Zoom Desktop Client for the best experience. If you already have the Zoom Desktop Client, please check that you have the latest version to access all features.

Will virtual sessions have closed captions?
Live captioning services will be provided for the keynote presentations by Vimeo. Auto-transcription services for breakout sessions will be provided by Zoom. Corresponding transcripts will be provided with the video recording for each session on November 17.  

Will there be networking opportunities during the 2026 WIDA Annual Conference virtual program?

Will the presentations be live or pre-recorded?   
All concurrent virtual sessions will be live. Virtual attendees will also receive access to a recording of the in-person keynote presentation.  

Will livestreamed sessions be recorded for playback?  

All virtual sessions will be recorded and made available to attendees from October 12, 2026 –January 31, 2027.

Will I receive a certificate of attendance?  

WIDA will provide an evidence of completion form that will be available in the 2026 WIDA Annual Conference virtual platform. Participants will need to fill it out and submit it to their local Professional Development committee to apply for credit.

When will I get access to the Virtual Conference platform?  

2026 WIDA Annual Conference virtual participants will receive access to the platform on September 7, 2026. Access for the recording-only option will open on October 12, 2026. 

How long will I be able to access the sessions?   

Session recordings will be available until January 31, 2027.
